Captain Marvel (2019)

Image result for captain marvel funSuch a great film. I really enjoyed this and found the character to be very well portrayed. I also found her funny, but some people like her dry humor some don’t. In addition I’ve heard people are saying the feminist message was too strong, but personally I didn’t notice. I believe the story had a good mix of background story paired with a plot that tied into the present day storyline.

Characters:
Carol Danvers/Vers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) – the dry humored, most powerful super hero we all need to fix what happened in Infinity Wars
Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson)
– the new friend
Talos/Keller (Ben Mendelsohn)
– the silly, but desperate alien
Yon-Rogg (Jude Law) – the new teacher
Supreme Intelligence/Dr. Wendy Lawson (Annette Bening) – the past mentor
Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) – the best ‘friend’
Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) – the side kick

Summary:
“Carol Danvers becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.” – IMDB Summary

Overall, I’d recommend watching! It’s a good film with a lot of action and although I might be in the minority with some saying they wanted more I feel like I know enough about her going into the next film.

TRAILER

7/10

Stan Lee Cameo:
Lee makes a posthumous appearance as himself, riding on a subway train and reading his lines from the screenplay for the film Mallrats. When he sees Carol Danvers, he smiles at her, and she smiles back. Although Lee did not create Danvers, the film’s Captain Marvel, he co-created the first incarnation of the character in Marvel Comics. The Marvel Studios logo at the beginning of the film also pays tribute to Lee, with his MCU cameo appearances being incorporated into the logo (RIP you superhero)

After Credits (2):
Middle – Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and James Rhodes speak with Bruce Banner about the Transmitter Pager when Captain Marvel appears and demands to know where Nick Fury is
End – Goose jumps onto Nick Fury’s desk and, following several attempts, vomits up the Tesseract
