Captain America: Civil War (2016)

captain-america-civil-war-posterGreat movie. Great storyline. Great writing. Great soundtrack. No surprise with the budget and cast they were presented with.  Just food for thought though – even Bucky questioned if he was worth the fight. CGI was well done in the places it occurred – only awkward point was young RDJ, but still believable.

Characters:
Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) – the freedom fighter
Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) – the genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist looking for redemption from past mistakes
Natasha Romanove/Black Widow (Scarlet Johannson) – the observer and friend stuck in the middle
Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) – the lost, scarred freedom friend
Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) – the freedom assistance
Lieutenant James Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle) – the redemption assistance
Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) – the freedom assistance
T’Challa/Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) – the revenge seeker
Vision (Paul Bettany) – the redemption assistance
Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olson) – the freedom assistance
Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) – the new guy
Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) – the new girl
Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) – the new boy

Summary:
“Political involvement in the Avengers’ affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.” – IMDB Summary

Overall, definitely recommend for those of Team Cap or of Team Iron Man – they will make you question your decision either way. Fills in some gaps and contains some major personal break throughs and break downs.

TRAILER

8/10

Also for those I know who really care; I am team Natasha Romanoff. If you’ve seen the movie you know she chooses the best side in literally one of the most difficult disagreements to occur in the series. I really feel as though the movie was set up to show how we don’t always have a good choice sometimes, neither side made the best decisions overall. In the very beginning the team was offered a political choice which if accepted would cause great restriction and possible casualties, but if denied could result in the same thing. They were backed into a corner. Unfortunately, it was going to be a mess either way.

Stan Lee Cameo:
Lee plays a security guard at the Smithsonian Institution who after discovering that Captain America stole his own World War II uniform from an exhibit, says, “Oh man, I am so fired”

After Credits (2):
Middle – Steve Rogers watches Bucky Barnes go back into cryostasis and thanks T’Challa, who has granted them asylum in Wakanda until a cure for Barnes’ mental programming can be found.
End – Peter Parker rests on his bed as Aunt May inquires about his black eye. As soon as she leaves the room, Peter inspects his Web-Shooters and watches as they emit a spider-shaped symbol
