Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Thor Ragnarok.jpgBest Thor yet! Hilarious, great story, visually stunning, and epic characters, portrayed by an epic cast. They added new people to the mix and easily merged them into the chemistry. It really helped that they unleashed this casts ability to be funny as hell and it was magical. You could tell they were having a great time, but each sense of humor fit so naturally into the other. At times there was a Guardians of the Galaxy feel to the color scheme/atmosphere which made sense. It’s a rogue planet with totally rogue happenings which aligns exactly with who the Guardians are, therefore completely appropriate and so fun.

Characters:
Thor (Chris Hemsworth) – the frat king with a conscious
Loki (Tom Hiddleston) – the conniving and deep deep deep down caring brother
Bruce/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo– the confused, but lovable giant
Heimdall (Idris Elba)
– the wise protector
Hela (Cate Blanchett) – the angry bada$$ sister
Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) – the awesome, epic warrior that takes crap from no one
Korg (Taika Waititi) – the rockin’ director who played a passice funny character and was an audience favorite
Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) – the greedy entertainer

Basically we topped off a beautiful, dysfunctional, unrelated by blood, family which is what the Avengers (and Roman folklore) is all about.

Summary:
“Thor is imprisoned on the planet Sakaar, and must race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his world, at the hands of the powerful and ruthless villain Hela.” – IMDB Summary

Overall, so much fun and so engaging at the exact same time with an epic visual appeal right from the start. There was pain, there was humor, there was character growth, there was suspense, and there was unity between it all. Go watch it. You know you want to.  Just watch it. Go. Now.
